Open for about 1 hour. Ruby red with purple tinge. Nose is really interesting with spice, cardamom, earth and raspberry. On the palate, the spice and cardamom play nicely along with a little tree bark and the raspberry. Finishes really well. While I was sipping this, I was eating a few oil cured black olives which turned out to be a great match. The spiciness and sweet fruit of the wine complemented the saltiness and herbal notes of the olives, and the wine’s acid cut right through the oiliness of the olives. Great pairing.
