Popped and poured and then followed over the course of two nights. It’s been exactly one year since my last bottle and this is just now beginning to drink reasonably well. Very fruit-forward, still, but it is settling down. No longer leaves me with impressions of heat and over-extraction. Instead, lots of dark cherry and blackberry fruit, earth, tree bark, and fig jam. Nose is brooding and earthy, and finish is very nice. This might just turn out to be a very good wine that was a laughable $19 when I purchased it.
